If I remember correctly, you place Caribbean under Central and South America but nobody seems to be posting anything there, questions or answers.. Maybe if you added a Caribbean Forum, or added it to the discription of Central and South America maybe people would be able to post there.

Just a thought

You know, Sunnie, you're absolutely right!!
I didn't really notice it before, which is odd because I've been to the Caribbean more times than anywhere else in the world. But in reviewing the forum, there is very little Caribbean-oriented.

Beerman stamps foot indignantly......peering over each horizon at Oz and Sweden........

I shall assist you in requesting a forum, or at least mention of it in CA/SA, from our beloved Administrators......

Beerman begins the requisite butt-kissing of TP Royalty.....

I would think that Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, The Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago deserve a place of their own.

OK, let's see now....bribing supplies.....case of Bank's, case of Ting, hmm, what else? Ah, that's it....a song!!

Ladies and gentlemen,
this is Captain Tobias Willcock
welcoming you aboard Coconut Airways Flight 372 to
Bridgetown, Barbados.
We will be flying at a height 32.000 feet,
and at an air speed of approximately
600 miles per hour. Refreshments will be served after take-off.
Kindly fasten you safety belts and refrain
from smoking until the aircraft is airborne.

Woh

Back to the palm trees.
Woh
I'm going to see my girl friend

In the sunny Caribean sea.

I don't want to be a bus driver all my life.
I've seen too much of Brixton town in the night.
Fly away on Coconut Airways
Fly me high, Barbados sky.

I look up the sky and I see the clouds.
I look down at the ground and I see the rain go down the drain.
Fly away on Coconut Airways

Far away from London Town and the rain
It's really very nice to be home again.

Now I know she loves me so.

Ladies and gentlemen,
we are now commencing our approach to Bridgetown Barbados.
The weather is fine with a
maximum temperature of 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
The sky is blue and the palm trees are really cool.
Captain Willcock and his
crew hope you have had a pleasant flight,
and that you will fly Coconut Airways again.

Beerman sticks his tongue out at the Torontonian-wanna-be....

OK, I realize that I may have been a bit "flowery" in my previous post, so here goes a bit of rationale....

"Hey Sam and Pete.....PLEASE CAN WE HAVE MORE CARIBBEAN COVERAGE? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....WE WANT CARIBBEAN!! WE WANT CARIBBEAN!! CA-RIB-BE-AN CA-RIB-BE-AN!!!!!

The US Postal Service receives a strange request..."Mr. Postmaster Person: Please ship these 50 cases of Bank's Beer to OZ, drop off 25, continue shipping to Norwegia, drop off other 25...return receipt requested. Thank you."

Beerman deftly sidesteps the hurtling dragon boat paddle, only to fall headfirst off the catwalk...

Gotta love him - he does have a flair for..... errmmmm..... well....

Okay! Okay!! I agree - the Caribbean does need more coverage!!! (I'm also biased - but only because I LOVE the Caribbean!!!!)

Notice, as a Moderator, I refrained from offering a bribe of any type...

Isa decides that maybe she should rethink that strategy and runs off to find some wonderful things to go along with the 25 cases of Banks.

Isa, If I could stick a cast of Banks in my carry-on on friday morning as I head for the US on Vacation (yes it seems odd that people from the Caribbean vacation in the US) as well as a bottle of Mount Gay Extra Old and possible some Fish Cakes, I would certainly try very hard in exchange for a forum for Caribbean. (sorry to say that traveling with 3 children might prohibit me from carrying such things, although they might come in handy.. the drinks that is)..

and Beerman.. thanks for the song. Fortunately Ting has only just started being delivered back to Barbados, for which I am grateful (you know those Jamaicans don't like taking anything out of their country.. hahaha)

Anyway.. If I can't get it to you.. How about an offer to buy the next round of Banks the next time your in Barbados. Just let me know.

(Beerman.. think this will get me a seperate Caribbean Forum???)

Thanks in advance for this consideration......

Sunnie, I have met more people from different Caribbean islands, that vacation in the US, so it doesn't seem odd to us at all!! I mean, there's only so much sun, sea and sand that one can take before they need to get away!! ;)

I don't think we'll be successful in getting a forum specifically designated "Caribbean", but (Sam/Pete) maybe the addition of the word "Caribbean" to the CA/SA forum title might be an option???

If you were going to be landing in Chicago, Beerman and I would meet you there to help carry that load of Banks and Mount Gay. (But, Beerman will probably make an appearance to apologize for not remembering the Mount Gay in his post.) We'll share the Banks, I'll take the MG Extra asnd Beerman can have the fish cakes. He likes fish cakes!

ps: There's a great little Jamacian restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin and they have Ting (and Red Stripe)!! We always bring some bottles home when we eat there. Maybe someone should open a place that serves the dishes of Barbados - and Banks! ;)

Ok, fair enough to give the Caribbean some more exposure. It would be somewhat tricky to start a new forum at this stage, mainly due to the list of countries that would fall under the new forum not being classified in such a way to make it easily achievable. Also, it would mean we really need to create quite a few other forums as well: Scandinavia, UK, Eastern Europe, South East Asia, Central Asia, etc.. etc.. it would be a massive overhaul (one which is bound to happen at some point, but I think not necessary yet)

It would certainly be no problem changing the title and description of the forum though.

Just wondering about wording.. how does this look:

Central/South America & The Caribbean
Discuss the southern Americas and the Caribbean here

Not sure about the Central/South America part..

Btw, any better forum description suggestions are welcome. The current ones are pretty uninspired if I say so myself

I remembered reading these 2 threads, and one that did not start out being about China as it's own forum, but ended up there. In these threads, you explained what a mess it could be to seperate out particular countires and areas as their own forums. Knowing that, I felt that us asking for The Caribbean to just be added to the CA/SA forum title would help.

Caribbean Specific Thread

Thanks for being willing to make that alteration!!!!! Personally, I think the Central/South America and the Caribbean looks fine. Though, maybe an "s" added to the end of America - since they are 2 Americas. But, that's minor.

The Caribbean contingent and those traveling there will appreciate the recognition!! ;) Thanks Pete!!!!!!!
