Hello Fellow travellers.
We are planning a world trip. We will be going from UK to Bali and Australia for definate. We are looking for advice for where else to stop off.
We have been to Fiji - loved it.
We loved Bali and its cheap as chips!! Lovely people.
Exploring new places on a moped!
Being busy doing nothing!
Any advice...all welcome.
Particularly like to know how Cooke Islands compare to Fiji?
What about Micronesia?
Other Indonesian Islands??
Looking forward to hearing from you.
If possible I would recommend spending a bit of time in SE Asia... this is particularly good for chllin out, drinking, moped adventures but is also light on the wallet... there are also opportunities around the place for some good diving... Also, for example, thailand has some of the nicest beaches in the world. The region is particularly good as far as nice scenery goes and the people are some of the friendliest in the world...
I would have to agree with AlexT.Me and my girlfriend spent 6 weeks in Thailand over Xmas last year.We spent most of our time in Phuket just off Thailand. As Alex said the people are incredible, beaches are fantastic and scuba diving is excellent too.We are also plannig a RTW trip and Phuket is top of our list on places to go.
Is Phuket expensive - how much approx is a beer? bottle of vino? a one night stay in a double room / with ensuite in hostel or hotel room??
Phuket is cheap.I dont think it is the cheapest place in Thailand but it is still good.We stayed in different places in Phuket.I dont think we paid more than £10 for a room inc bathroom and they were all clean and well kept.A beer worked out at about 80p - £1.The beer isnt bad either.I think wine is a little more expensive as most is inported.Eating out is very cheap. You can go and have a real good feed for a few pound or less in some places.
Thanks for th info...can you remeber any of the hotel names of the places that you stayed at? Ta
One place was called the sands inn. This was in Patong. It was about £7 per night. The other was called the Club.Again it wasnt too bad.Nice and clean and reasonable prices. Also there are plenty of places to stay on the beach.Small huts etc which is a great experience.Good luck with the rest of your planning. If you have any more questions dont hesitate to ask.
Do u know how much a dive would cost??
It all depends on what standard your up to.Have you already got your open water diver certificate or would it be your first dive?
ive heard baghdad is nice at this time of year
