Quoting samsara2

Ive had the teeth falling out dream - not a nice one!! Its always a relief to wake up from that. As far as I know, its a very common one, and signifies a feeling of lack of control.

Yes, yes, I've had that numerous timns also, except mine don't fall out as such, they just get really loose!

I read where it meant that you are afraid of getting old.

Another one I have is turning up somewhere and being told that I have an exam in five minutes! I know nothing about the exam and start to panic. Then I look down and realise that I'm wearing my pyjamas!

Then years later, I was watching Discovery and they had a program about people who dream when they're awake. Turns out that sometimes - and for some people it happens ALL the time - the brain doesn't shut off the sleep chemicals (the stuff that enables you to dream and keeps you 'paralysed' so you don't enact your dreams) as you're waking up. So you're essentially awake AND dreaming - usually of a presence in the room, somone sitting on your chest, a monster, etc.

That's really wierd. About 4-5 years ago I had like 4 nights in a row where this was happening to me. I would be having some bizarre "death dream" and I would actually wake up (already semiconcious) in some wierd corner of my room. One of them, I dreamt that a campervan was backing up into me, and I awoke inside my closet pressed against the wall. The next night I awoke pressed to the floor thinking a blade was swinging above me. And a final night I flung out of bed and wacked my head on the night stand giving me a cut above my eye. After that, I haven't had anything remotely close take place. Nothing unusual was going on in my life that I could think of. I thought I was going insane, but literally, after 3 or 4 strange nights like this I went straight back to sleeping like a baby. Anybody with a psychology degree feel free to figure this one out for me. Freddy Krueger?

I had one strange dream once...

I woke up, went up stairs and no one was around everyone was gone.. everyone. I woke up startled that it was just a dream. I went upstairs and everyone was silent... if I talked to them there would be no response, everything was quiet. I woke up startled that it was a dream.. I went upstairs and things were normal again.. I didn't wake up after that.

Seemed like three dreams inside of eachother or something...

I have dreams about my ex. it use to be nightmares... but now he is off in the distance.

I always have dreams where I am in a house. I can't get out and there are a million beds. Or the rooms are all black. Old Victorian homes, country western homes.. usually mansions with a winding stair case, stairs.

I use to dream about flying and some how i would lose steam and sink to the ground. I would try to flap my arms to stay up, but then I slam onto the ground. These dreams are stressful.

I rarely have sexual dreams, but if I do they feel like they are underwater... I donno what that means.

I just remembered a really scary dream I had a couple of weeks ago. I was away for the weekend and in my dream it was the night before New Years when one of my close friends send me a text saying that she was seriously depressed and didn't want to live anymore. This totally freaked me out and I tried to contact her in all possible ways. In vain. An hour later I received another text simply saying "goodbye, I love you".
I woke up shivering then and the first thing in the morning I did was giving her a call to check she was fine. Everything was ok, but we're still wondering whether this dream was a sign for a new start for her?!? Thankfully not all of my dreams are such nightmares, but I can't get this one out of my head...

Sometimes when I have a fantasy I want to dream about it but I wake up without remembering my dream. Can we control what we dream of? Can we create a dream? I wish I could...

I like dreaming cause I always see only good dreams. Any nightmare, could you believe it? And I've never woke up in the middle of the night from the bad dream...
In my dreams I often see water - small rivers, lakes, ocean... I'm usually swimming or sailing... I always love those dreams and I think that they should mean something nice cause I wake up happy Once I even saw tsunami but that dream was still not scaring cause I've been there the hero who saved all people
Sometimes I see colour vivid dreams which are like adventure movies and i'm Lara Croft there
Few times I saw my Dad who died few years ago... And he was very nice to me and helped me to understand something important...
I believe that some dreams have important meaning and sometimes i wake up with the feeling that I saw something like that but that dreams I never remember. For my better or worth ;)
