Hi guys,

I found out a random fact here in Trinidad today:

The steelpan drum (invented here in the Port of Spain) was the only acoustic instrument invented in the 20th century.

I'm a sucker for random facts! Any of you know anything random about the countries you live/were born in?

Here is a couple I stumbled across...

Mass moonings - In 1832, 300 female Convicts at the Cascade Female Factory mooned the Governor of Tasmania during a chapel service.

Police force - Australia's first police force was a band of 12 of the most well behaved Convicts.

New Zealand plant life is remarkable in that of the 2000 indigenous species, about 1500 are found nowhere else in the world; examples of such unique plants are the golden kowhai and the scarlet pohutukawa

not a fact but an old irish curse i like :

May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping

(its a loose translation)
