I used to work with an English woman in Sydney & she always used to tell me to apply a fresh coat of lipstick before going home on the bus/train.. you never know who you might meet ;)

Most of the time, yes I think so. It's not easy sometimes though - the older I get the more I see that other ppl often wont let you be yourself. They draw lines around you and expect you to stay within them, and then they berate you for the very opposite thing to what you are trying to do, i.e. not being yourself.

Complicated stuff. Sorry you asked?

I agree totally! I was talking about this with my sister this morning. She wrote to me that our parents seem to have preconceived ideas about our lives - and she hit the nail on the head. My mother alsio has this strange syndrom where she states her opinion as true-blue fact, but that's another story altogether.

Speaking of mothers...my mother has always told me not to ever judge. Whenever I feel like I am getting to the point of judging (in some cases, more like gossiping) someone, I always think about that. I dont want nor I like to be judged, so the answer is dont judge others either....my answer always is, whatever makes you happy, whatever rocks your boat...what is it to you anyway right?

The interesting part is that the things most people do, dont affect our lives one bit but yet, we love to talk about it and put our two senses into everybody's business...I wonder why that is? Is it human nature?

Yeah its a hard thing not to do - judge others. I feel infuriated if anyone proffers their little dewdrop of wisdom on my life or choices, but I do it all the time myself.

It's probably one of my biggest flaws...but I'm Irish. We are a nation of judges!

"Would you look at the head on that one! She's thinks she's great now with her big house, and she came from nothing you know!! SHe wouldnt look twice at you now when you'd pass her on the street, oh yeah! Too good for all of us!"

You get the picture...(thats not me, of course...someone...else )

Not to talk about people that are not in the room with you, good or bad... a real mental challenge, a good exercise of the brain.
