Hi I am new on this forum,
and it seems a bit big to browse through.
Me and my girlfriend are going travelling in south america ( and maybe central america) for 2 months.
Any tips would be usefull:
- cheap flights from UK to America
- how to travel in the country? Bus/cow/plane?
- How expensive is the life/accomodation?
- Does she need to hide her blond hair, not to get robbed or even worse ?
- Nice places to visit and places to avoid
South America is a big place, so it cannot be the same rule applied to all the areas and countries.
I have travelled with my girlfriend with absolutely no problem at all, just use common sense.
Hello all, I am planning on going to south America (not sure where yet) to learn Spanish and then hopefully get involved with local volunteer projects. Massive amount of choices and organisations (and countries!) -I feel a bit over whelmed. I would like to try and avoid getting caught up in cities and away from massive western profit organisations, would rather live with locals than in an international hostel. I know there are a lot of companies that offer Spanish lessons and living in a homestay but does anybody have any ideas on starting points, it all seems very quick holiday based what i've found on the internet so far (my computer skills being minimal). I also feel very strongly about environmental and humanitarian issues and would there for not want to be involved in anything that was intrusive on the local surroundings or communities so to speak. All a bit complicated, any ideas on even what country to go too!?
it is not nice to help somebody who asks questions like yours.
