Hi, my name is Jeff. I am from St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. I am currently working on a master's in secondary education, and substitute teaching to make ends meet. the great thing about substitute teaching is the flexibility, which allows me to travel at will (and when I have the money!). My most recent trip was to Bucaramanga, Colombia to visit my fiance Laura, whom I will marry next January. For our honeymoon we are going to visit the Iguazu Falls, which border Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina. If anyone has been there and has advice, feel free to shoot me a message. Here's a list of my travels, in no particular order:

Canada, US Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Colombia, Denmark, Belgium

Hey Jeff!

Welcome to TP!!

I'm grew up in Mankato - if you know where that is...

How was the Dominican Republic??? My husband (Beerman) and I have thought about making a visit there. We've been to Jamaica several times and once to Antigua. Any suggestions?

Congrats on your up and coming wedding! Your honeymoon sounds like a very nice trip!!

Again, welcome and hope to see you in the forums! You will find us all a very helpful group whenever possible!

Hi Jeff, welcome aboard! I actually went to Gustavus (near Mankato Isadora) so I know MN well. I can tell you this, Iguazu will not disappoint, it's incredible. Let me know if you have any questions, I was down there about a year ago. My only advice beforehand would be this: look into the requirements for the Brazilian visa before you get down there. As an American, I think they charge you about US$150. Having crossed the border between Argentina and Chile many times while I was down there, I was unpleasantly surprised with the difficulty of getting into Brazil. It's not too bad, they are just recipricating the rules America lays down on their citizens, but they will more than likely fingerprint and photograph you in addition to the $150. Definitely worthwhile if you are planning on spending time in Brazil, but probably not if you just want to see the Brazilian side of the Falls.

Would love to hear about Colombia as well; it's on the list!

Hi Jeff,
where did you go in Sweden?

Congrats to the wedding!!!

I am too going to Iguazu Falls, probably end of February or early March. I've heard there's a pretty cool restaurant with an astonishing buffé, overlooking the falls... And it's not supposed to be too expensive.
