Hi all,

im planning to travel for upto 6 months starting in October. Im trying to calculate my tight budget....ive already paid for my ticket, travel insurance, visas & now left with £3,300 (sterling) to take for spending by staying in cheap hostels, cooking, transport, plus two or three tours.

im visiting the following Countries:
Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore (3 weeks)
Australia (3 months)
New Zealand (6 weeks)
Hong Kong (4 days)

Please can someone advise if £3,300 with be enough for 6 months?

A.:)

You are going to visit the more expensive countries (in exception of Thailand). For these countries you should count on 1000 euro per month (700 pounds). In Thailand and probably malaysia 500 euro should be enough (350 pounds).

...But you can do with less than 500 Euro if you live low budged, and in Tailand I think 200 euro in 1 month will be enough

I'm a Singaporean! yes for 6 months.. i guess it would be enough if u live on a budget, it's definitely v cheap in Thailand..not so in Singapore, but STILL it is much cheaper than in the UK.
AND there are cheap n nice accomodations in thailand, malaysia..
so i don't think it would be a problem.
FOOD IS VERYYY CHEAP in asia!!
be sure to find me when u'r here lol
i make a good tour guide
gonna be in the UK in nov thou

anyway, have fun in asia
oh yeh,
u gotta visit islands off malaysia! they'r gorgeous.. just lk in maldives/ french polynesia.. n they'r ridiculously cheap, esp to u.
Visit Pulau Redang, and Pulau Perhentian.. u get to see turtles even when u go snorkelling! n baby sharks, giant baracudas..

oh, n if u'r gonna see BALI, u gotta take a short flight to Lombok, n a boat to Gili Trawangan, many Gilis (islands) there that are beautiful n catered to backpackers.

U'll experience the beauty of asia.

luv, Nell

200 euro per month??? Including accomodation, food and transport? If that is true you should really teach me about how to travel on a tight budget!!!!

If you sleep in the cheapest Hostels (between the 1,50 and 5,00 Euro p.p.p.n.) Food&drinks are very cheap, if you don't eat too difficult and you take cheap busses or trains, and travel slow, stay longer at one place...
Then travelling can be very cheap. Maybe it's a bit more difficult to travel with a very low-budged but it is possible...
