I'm making a stopover in Dubai for 3 days, with 2 pre-teens.

I would appreciate advice on:
- "must see" places
- recommended 3 or 4 stars hotel
- eating places
- safe to roam around in evening?

Thanks

Hi Dear,

- "must see" places. Ibn batota mall, Mudhish world at world trade center, Wild Wadi, City center mall, Burg Alarab
- recommended 3 or 4 stars hotel. No Idea, I live in 5 and above hotels only 
- eating places. Hatem restaurant, Chillis restaurant, Dinner at Abloom village must make reservation first and burg Alarab restaurants.
- safe to roam around in evening? Ya Dubai is very safe city and the people is very nice and friendly either local or expats.

Regards,

Khalid

hi spacy - i live in dubai.

here are a few answers to your questions:

must see places:

1) the madinat jumeirah - stunning complex of hotels and "souk" / shopping mall ... beautiful scenery.
2) wild wadi - which is next door to the madinat.
3) burj al arab (only 7 star hotel in the world) - also next door to madinat but you cant just walk in - you have to be either staying there or have a reservation to eat there.
4) as khalid mentioned - the ibn battuta mall is a new mall that opened about 2 months ago - if you're interested in huge shopping malls then check this place out
5) the gold souk -
6) i'd advise a trip out to the desert although at this time of year you might want to think twice as its pretty damn hot right about now!

3 to 4 star hotels :

there are endless amounts of them but im not 100% sure of their names...here are a few i can remember
1) rydges plaza
2) the ibis
3) novotel

eating places:

soooooooooooooo many - you'll be spoilt for choice! you have to try arabic and iranian food while you're here - stunning!

safety:

extremely safe - nothing to worry about

hope that helps :) happy travelling

Nas.
