"We have taken note of the Dalai Lama's statement in which he has acknowledged that Tibet's economy has developed considerably. At the same time, he has maintained an erroneous stand on the Communist Party of China's policy towards Tibetan minorities." Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao talked about Tibet issue.
Although the Dalai Lama has expressed hope of improving relations with the Communist Party of China, he needs to do more, "continues to persist in the wrong standpoint, disregarding Tibet's social progress and achievements in human rights, and provokes relations amongst Tibetans, distorts and attacks the central government's Tibet policies."
Liu reaffirms "the central government's policy towards the Dalai Lama is clear and consistent and it hopes the Dalai Lama will take realistic action to show his sincerity."
