Is it true that The Perhentian Islands pretty much close down in November for the monsoon period? Our plans to head to SE Asia have been pushed back a couple of months - so we are leaving in about October to Malaysia. We have been told by soooo many people that we HAVE to go to the islands and we aren't sure if we should change our whole trip around so we get a good time on the Perhentian Islands?
[ Edit: Sorry, no personal details please. ]
Yes, the resorts on the Perhentian Islands are closed from November to March due to the monsoon season.
If you come in early October, you might have a very good chance of going there, provided that the monsoon doesn't start earlier than usual this year.
Somehow there is some chalets that still open for monsoon season BUT the departure day is depended on condition of weather. Somehow there is a chalet in Redang Island will be opened based on latest news from operator there.
