Hi Matt,

Welcome to Travellerspoint, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Honeymoon on a tropical island beach? Hmm... Check out the Perhentian Islands. Consist of two islands, they are among the most beautiful islands in Malaysia with fine white sandy beach, crystal clear water, beautiful corals, turtles, ...

One word, you and your wife will be sure to have a great time there. Wait, that's ... 13 words!

Oops! Did you say your honeymoon will be in November?
Most operators in Perhentian islands and other islands on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia will be closed for the monsoon season (October/November to March/April). Sorry about that

Ok, Plan B.

If you have the budget, you could go to the Pangkor Laut island, next to Pangkor island. It's a privately owned island where the internationally acclaimed resort is. Listed room rates are from as low as US$250. Search around the net and you could get a better package deal. Read the reviews here.
(Peter, this is the island that you were asking about when you were in Malaysia last month. So when are you coming again? )

Another place would be Langkawi, an archipelago of 99 islands at the Andaman sea, north-west of peninsular Malaysia. The Datai appears to be a very famous place with the honeymooners and travellers. The listed rates are more expensive than Pangkor laut though. (Read reviews)

Don't worry if you do not have the budget for the above (as most of us don't!). There are definitely other resorts around the two islands that are able to fit your budget. Just search around the net. :) Wait, I'm talking to a travel agent, who'd already knew all this stuff!

p/s: I'm not affiliated with The Datai and Pangkor Laut.

Hello and Welcome, Matt. I guess congratulations are in order, also. Yeah, I'm guessing the most important thing about a November honeymoon is gonna be the weather. Wherever you go make sure it isn't in the Monsoon season or Hurricane season or something like that. I'm sure you'll figure it out there are alot of really knowledgable TPers to get info from here.

Aahhh. A honeymoon. Someday for me, too. I hope.
