Hello, I will be arriving in Paris by bus at 6AM from Amsterdam and I have a flight out at 1:30PM so I should be at the airport by 11:30AM. What would be the best way to make use of that chunk of time? I will have a couple of bags with me that I'd like to stow in an airport locker instead of lug around.

Does anyone know Paris and its transport systems well enough to suggest how I start at the bus station at 6AM (I'm travelling on a Eurolines bus), lock up my bags, go to some cool places, and end up at the CDG airport at 11:30AM?

you cant get to CDG airport relatively painlessly using the train. The Paris metro is very extensive. I take it this is your first time in Paris? I would probably take the Metro and see all or a combination of the following:
1. Eiffel Tower- you probably wont have time to do a trip to the top but if you do, there is a great view of Paris. I would at least have a wander there and look at it close up from the ground.
2. Notre Dame is worth a look.
3. Arc de Triomph also worth a look close up.
4. Maybe have a wonder around the streets of the Latin Quarter and pick up some breakfast there... some good creperie's there for a good feed after a long bus trip.
5. Pantheon
Obviously you dont have alot of time but these are things that I would consider having a look at. Given the time of year you wont have time to battle the crowds and go for a tour at all these sights but it is definately worthwhile to see them close up in order to appreciate the architecture and such.

Good luck and enjoy your short Paris Adventure.

Well, you're just going to have time to get a flavour of Paris. I'm not sure what time the bateaux-mouches start running, but I think I'd be tempted by a quick trip on the Seine to see the sights from the river :) .... that ought to whet your appetite for a return trip.

hello Grant,

the Bateaux Mouches is definitely a good idea, as the boat will allow to see the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Louvre Museum,...
The 1st boat is at 10am, at Metro station Alma Marceau -line 9-, and it lasts about 1 hour.
the cost is about 10 euro
