For those of you who have glass/contacts, which do you prefer to take travelling? is one more convenient than the other? I have glasses, but not contacts and I am thinking about getting them before I leave for my trip.

Contacts every time, dont get wet in the rain and steamed up when walk in to hot places.

Always take a spare pair of contacts (got hard ones) and a pair of glasses as last resort.

I totally agree, contacts are just so much more convenient e.g. you won't need shades with a correction. For me it also was important to wear contacts when I went diving, I could actually leave them in under water without having any troubles. Take your glasses anyway, I used them as an accessory or wore them in the evenings when relaxing at hostels.

Contacts, hands down! I always bring an extra pair of contacts, and my glasses just in case - nothing beats the freedom of getting rid of the glasses. The only minor trouble I'll get is the occassional "run away" contact when I get water in my eyes from swimming or paddling. Then you just have to wait for the dang thing to float back into position.

I just could not do it! I tried contacts and I can not stand jabbing my fingers in my eyes... such a horrible feeling

I will take glasses any day of the week. Though I have worn them for twenty-one years so I guess I am used to it.

I want to like contacts... but it is such a bad feeling ..

Out of necessity, I always take both. If you're going to get a pair of contacts before you go, I suggest you look into the ones that you can sleep in. These are ideal if you ask me; that way you can sleep on buses, planes, etc. without much problem. You can also go several days if you're camping or anything like that. Personally, I just hate wearing my glasses!
