Perhaps he's trying to convince himself of this Ev.. you know the old not as young as I used to be/wish it was me scenario

All Cities have something unique to offer.. some maybe horrible but they all have something to call their own!

To say the truth I don't agree... Maybe that's a position of tired experienced traveller but for me it's not understandable yet!
The feeling which I appreciate more that the any other thing is the feeling when I'm new in the city - when I see the streets and sense the athmosphere the first time... I think nothing compares to it. And I love to come to any small city in the same country cause all of them are different!

If that was the case, then you would enjoy the anticipation and then cancel your holiday at the last minute!

You'd certainly save some money "travelling" this way.

I think my dad is the total opposite! I'm currently in Berlin and the reason being is because my dad, every so often, usualy one of those in the car moments (you know the time, when fathers have a word with you in such a place you can't escape!) that start with 'when I was young/a lad/ a boy/ in [insert country/company]' and that just made me want to do it more! Hearing him having such a great time made me want to go out there and do it myself. I guess all parents are different (at one point he was actually encouraging me to travel...hope he wasn't implying anything) but I'm sure it's because they are worried and all parents are going to be even if they don't show it. I suppose its so called empty nest syndrome...

I HATE the lead up to going away!!! Its so stressful!
"Have i made the right decision? Will this be a terrible waste of money? What if i get lonely? Will i be able to access my money? Have i forgotten something important? Will my pets be ok while Im gone? What if I dont make any friends?"
But once I land in the new, undiscovered country of fresh experiences, exciting cultures and amazing travellers all the anxiety disappears and its all I can do to contain my excitement!
Then towards the end of the trip I start thinking of where to next and cant believe how easy it is and how silly it is to worry...
