Hi all, im sitting in an internet cafe in Nazca Peru uploading the south america photos up onto site- has been very usful to keep in contact with home. and thinking about how im gonna miss the excitment of 'being on the road' when i get back to england at the end of sept. im a student so wont be earning that much next year but would really like to do something adventurous next yr - dont mind how close it is to home - anyone go any brilliant ideas for an adventure on the cheap!
Ah, I hate that... when you're on the road but already dreading going back home and the post trip blues!!! Signing up as a travel helper for the countries you've just left helps. The memories are still so fresh and you're still so keen to share what you've experienced which really helps.
Anyway, ideas.... these days with all the budget airlines out of the UK, how about just taking one of those for a weekend or something out of the country. Prague is aparently a great destination, not to mention the south of France and Spain.... not necessarily as adventurous as travelling South America, but still great for a week away from home!!
Why not hop across the pond to Ireland!
There's lots of amazing treks here if that's your thing! Good spots to camp, great food, blah blah blah.
Or, if you had a bit of extra cash to spare - how about a trip to ICELAND? That's where I'd go. (although flights can be pricey).
Actually,I just realised, neither of those options are cheap. Lol!
I'm not at my brightest first thing in the morning...
Why not just check out cheap flights on easyjet or ryan air! Pack up a tent and go wherever is cheapest!
While I was a student, my boyfriend and i managed to get a return flight to Venice for £35 incl tax. Flew over there and stayed in Venice, Verona and Trentino on campsites. Was great fun! AND cheap!
