Eve, I was sitting in my living room last night, making circles on the places to visit (on a subway map). Hopefully by the time you get it, you are going to know the subway system better than your average New Yorker. I will send it to you as soon as I get back!

One place my sister wants to visit (and I've never been) is the Bronx Zoo. I've never gone but for what I hear there is no place like the Bronx Zoo in the world. Being a vet, she has been told to see it over anything else (hmm, I dont know about that). I will let you know if it is worth it. ;)

New York is a city with just about anything a person could want, any time of the day or night. Ethiopean food at 4am on a Sunday? I know a place that delivers. This place is nuts. On the other hand, it can be a quiet laid back place too. You just have to find those neighborhoods. I have lived here my whole life, and I havent seen all of it. I grew up in Brooklyn and I havent even seen all of Brooklyn! NYC can be anything anyone wants it to be, and can change based upon one's mood. Manhattan is obviously the center of the city, with lots of cultural things to see and do, some of the best restaurants in the world, Broadway, Central Park. But the outer boros have almost as much, if you are willing to wander a bit to find them.

New York just has something about it....I first went last year as a starry eyed chick travelling on my own for the first time!!!!I arranged a placement over there for 6 weeks working with a designer over New York Fashion Week....I planned the whole thing alone and I felt proud of myself to be doing all this!!!!I arrived at JFK and the snow was falling as I hopped on a bus to Manhattan.....I remember gazing out of the window and eventually the New York Skyline crept into view and I remember feeling totally amazed!!!I guess when you see something so much on TV,films, in books its breathtaking to see it in the flesh. That first time round was the middle of winter, it was freezing but here was some kind of buzz to be had sitting in minus degrees on top of that Circle Line Ferry catching my first glimpse of the Statue of Liberty.....As soon as I arrived in New York I felt I had a special bond with the place and although Id always thought London was wehere I would end up settling, I knew instantly that It was New York where I should be!Had an incredible time, so much that I returned as part of my round the world trip a couple of months back and had an even better time!!!!!!!!it was a totally different place in the summer, I dont know which I prefer!!!!!!This time round I skipped all the tourist things as Id done them all,and explored more of the real New York......The cool African market, Malcolm Shabbaz in Harlem, Fort Tyron Park in Washington Heights, Eating Candyfloss or Cotton Candy a they call it over there in Coney Island, sampling the weird and wonderful Russian food in Brighton Beach!!!!!Spent a lot of time in Brookyln and fell in love with the place, the amazing views from DUMBO, the beautiful Greenwood Cemetery, Prospect Park.........I love getting pizza for 99c per slice, i love people watching on the subway, I just love New York!
So much so Im in the process of applying for my visa!

Have only ever been there once and loved it, wanted to visit since an early age what makes it amazing is the fact that you can walk from one end to the othere hand have plenty to do and see, its fascinating just the different lifestyles there. Its a city that see`s all types of people living together as one. I found the New Yorkers very friendyly and willing to help if asked, like most cities but New York was different. The view from the top of the Empire State Building are seen on photo`s all over the internet and kust to see them in person was just spectacular espeacilly at sunset and into the early night. The sound you hear on the movies is what its like, car horns hooting and just the sound of the city. Its a very amazing place. With the cost of flight these days I think its a place that everyone should think about visiting. I loved it and will go back again one day. The Statue of Liberty and its story from within is something that will keep in your mind for years. Its an amazing feeling just being there and even from the ferry knowing that you will soon be at the base looking over the water towards Manhattan. Its a very emotional place to be.. Just an amazing place to be...
Look at my photo`s and see some of the views that are to be loved. London has nothing on New York.

Enjoy and Love....
