Sleeping Bag for Inka Trail

Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Sleeping Bag for Inka Trail

Hi everyone!

I'm a bit undecided on the whole bring-a-sleeping-bag-with-me thing.

I'm thinking of just investing in a silk sleeping bag liner and using that when needs be in hostels and so on. The only thing is I will need a bag to do the Inka Trail, and I'm not to sure if renting one is a good idea.

Has anyone done this? I'm not sure I fancy the idea of sleeping in a rental sleeping bag (even with my own liner)....
On the other hand, as I probably wont use the bag very much after the Inka Trail, it seems a bother to drag one around South America with me.

Advice anyone?

Thanks,

Ev;)

Ev,
If you are planning a long trip through SA, i recommend you to rent a sleeping bag for the Incas trail. It's unpleasant to carry something you'll use in one or maybe two opportunities.

I would recommend you to rent a sleeping bag. The nights are very cold (under 0 °C in my trip) so you'll need a good sleeping bag wich going to be too expensive to buy if you don't use to camp frequently.
