My grandmother claims that people who talk to themselves have money in the bank. She also thinks that if you eat the bubbles in your tea cup you'll get a dollar for each.

Only when I have a cold and a soar throat, and I can't sing in the shower, then I have to talk to myself.

My grandmother said bubbles around the side of the cup meant love, and bubbles in the middle meant money.

Anyway, I talk to myself all the time, though I get self-conscious when someone catches me doing it. I tend to have a running commentary - kind of like if I was doing a voice-over of my life. Depending on the mood I am in, it could be like a breaking news report (when things are busy or stressful), a comedy travel series (when things are goofy or weird) or a hard-boiled, film-noir detective series (when I'm goofy or weird ).

That's good and you surely have a nice interpersonal skills!

Well, everyone seems to do it every once in a while... But don't you guys think that it was weird that I was talking to myself in English? That's not my first language and I don't even live in an English-speaking country at the moment!

I "eat" the bubbles and have never gottten a dollar, nor have I money in the bank (except to pay bills with), but maybe I've just been "eating" the bubbles along the side of the cup (since I have Beerman)... ;)

Greg, that's the best kind of "talking to yourself" - might as well be entertaining if your going to take the time to talk!

I don't find that strange at all!!!! We have friends who are bi or multi-lingual and they switch back and forth (in languages) when they talk to themselves. Maybe it's a sign you will be traveling to an English-speaking country where it will be quite windy and you'll meet a truckdriver... (It could happen...)

i do it. but i dont realize i do it, until i get caught... and then i say "did i say that outloud."

it is funny. my sister called me... and she told me to hang on.

i zoned off because she was talking to someone... but it ended she was muttering the directions to herself. does that count, and why did she have to put me on hold? I donno, my strange loving family.

i think women do it more than man... i mean, talking outloud. he he. get your mind of the gutter folks. whatcha think?

Nope, not at all! I have just realised (whilst reading this thread!) that when I talk to myself I speak in Swiss-German rather than in English! Oh and occassionaly Italian (and my Italian is nothing to rave about- think I make up the sentences with random Italian words most of the time!)
