A lot of folks I know have moved to Beleize down In central America, the weather always stays the same and they live on the cheap and it didn't cost a lot to build a home.

I'd love to know where you end up. I could have written your post myself! I picked San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I have a great little apt here with everything included for about $350 US per month. I work online too, but am getting bored and am ready to change spots. I'm thinking of Cape Town or Lisbon, or Marakkesh, none of which seem to be on the cheapest places list :-(

Move in to India. I think the cheapest of places on earth is in India.There are smaller places where you can have a appartment for Rs1000/- month ( 1 US $ = Rs 45 ), and a delicious meal will cost you Rs 100/-. Just imagine where on earth you can have such a bargain.

Cheap is one thing, but severe depression due to your surroundings might make it worth it to go elsewhere?

So, if india is the cheapest, are there any really pretty places to live in india? Because for the most part, it looks like a shithole and since the smell of curry makes me sick, I don't know how long I could handle it.

You know what they say about India: You love it or you hate it

I personally love the place

Yeah!

If you want to get mental peace come to India. The Himalayas will sooth your nerves. The ultimate place for salvation. My personal choice is Uttaranchal state. The Almora-Kausani-Binsar-Jageswar is just heavenly.

Bangkok is Cheaper than KL, and is way much Cheaper than Singapore...

I don't know... but its not exactly true... Some stuff in Bangkok has same price in SG and is abit more costly..

I was thinking of Jakarta or Medan City in Indonesia.... I got lotsa stuff there~!!

Wouter, for I have never been there couldn't let myself comment anything about India but as what I hear from those who returned from India, it's another world for lots of us!!!

About your petrol...it's the same thing all over the world...I even have a thought to sell my car off ...tho it's not practical as I am not living in KL but a small town like Seremban where no light trains or Metro system here. <emoticon: sigh>

And what about Indo-Chine: Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar??? Many media reported Vietnamese are crazily hunting for money due to the fast development across the China Border.

<emoticon: pondering...>
