I kept wondering lately, what could we as individuals do to make this world a better place?

I mean it in a smaller sense, like smiling more, telling people we appreciate them being around etc...

Any suggestions?

doing things for your and the others pleasure - without using any (or a little) money.

I like giving presents which I made myself or collected on my holidays. Everybody does appreciate free gifts and non-commercial attitude

remembering to say thank you when asking for a favour, refraining from hitting the jabbering hungover colleague who is wrecking my head,

Call that friend that you've been putting off calling because you are "too busy."

No need to talk for hours, just call and say hello and let them know that you have been thinking of them.

Do it now.

Don't hurt people just because you can.

Don't take it out on people when you're having a bad day.

I find it hard to vocalize my feelings to others sometimes..but I'm a big believer in hugs. Hugs are great!

And I truly believe that if everyone still sucked their thumbs, we'd all be a little less stressed.

Random acts of kindness

put money in a strangers parking meter
help someone carry their packages
get something off the high shelf at the store for someone

stuff like that - and always say "You are welcome" (with a smile) when they thank you.

Tell some-one you love them. Let people know that they are appreciated, just for being themselves.

Friends and I used to (still do ) do things at the mall, like running up to people and giving them huge hugs, or jump out of the bushes and take pictures of people, (which really scares a lot of people) or running up to random good-looking guys and proposing to them. And the best part is we have most of it on video . I'm not sure if this really made people happy, or just scared them, but it was fun, and I think it cheered people up a little. We also marched around wearing old lady masks with signs that said "National No Smiling Day" This is where we got the idea. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/destinations/europe/england/manchester?v=images&a=5
