Well done Ev

I'm going too, but its part of my rtw ticket.. which is turning out to cost me an arm & leg anyway when you include all those bl**dy airport taxes & fuel surcharges

Hurray Fiona!

Are those taxes and fuel surcharges added on to the cost of your RTW ticket??

Hey Ev:)

how much did you pay for your ticket? did you purchase it via
I'm having the same dilemma, should I go or should I save those extra dollars....

Anyway, have a great time there:)

I paid around $550 which I think works out about €400. Apparently, that's quite good, so I'm happy enough.

The way I see it, I might not be in Chile ever again, so I might as well go for it. I'll just have to sell my body for extra cash or something to make up the travel fund.

haha, I might have to do the same thing to raise the money for the trip to Easter Islands;)
But that's true, I might never go to Chile again so why not :D

Just spotted that you're travelling around South America in Feb. If you're interested in meeting up along the way let me know!

I should be in Chile for most of Feb.

Hey, come to Easter Island with me! $ know you want to....

Hahaha, it would be great to meet up!! :) I won't be in chile though until march or the beginning of april. We're gonna start our trip in Venezuela and work our way around South America from there.

I just got the third job (on weekends) so I should be able to make it to the Easter Islands:)

I might be a bit late since you've booked the flights but Easter Island is amazing! I'd love to go back...

The people are so chilled out, it's very "pacific island" and not very "South American" especially not very Chilean! I was just doing S. America so it was a nice change.

The sunsets in town are fab. And the sights are obviously amazing! Ranu Raraku (the quarry) is spectacular but don't walk around the crater, looks like a nice stroll but I was close to falling to my death at times! In fact all 3 volcanoes on the island are worth seeing. Oruru (I think that's the name) is the sacred village, go there to see the bird man petroglyphs and the view of the cliffs.

I was on the island for about 4-5 days and wanted a couple extra just to chill out and enjoy the atmos, I did see all the sights but had minimal chilling time!
