Try this site instead...the link Isa posted is through an agency. There is probably limited availability through them but I was able to get a room directly from them.

Sam is right! St Malo is fully booked!

You can also take a look at the Montreal accommodation directory. You can search by type of accommodation, area and star rating. I found a few well-loctaed B&Bs for $60 or so, so there's hope yet!

You can also browse the rest of the site, which is the official tourist site, to get a better idea of what there is to see and do here. Once we get everyone's feedback, we can start to plan the who, what, where of the weekend so we cover a little of everything.

Sam, YUL is the right aiport and Isa and I are staying at St Malo...and since we are staying there then EVERYONE should stay there . You see, this whole meet-up is all about ME ME ME ME...and ME.

And about ME ME ME ME ME ME!!!

I have just received Sam's mobile number. (Though, not having a cell myself - no one can reach us once we leave the house for Montreal. You'll have to wait until we arrive and then just yell loudly. )

Beerman is booking tickets this week. Our plan is to arrive late afternoon/early evening on Thursday (9-22) and stay at the Hotel Le Saint Malo (as Anne said). Oh, and thanks for the new St. Malo link too, Anne!!

I also agree with Tina, that once we have more itineraries and feedback, then we can actually get down to the fun planning stuff.

Isa will sit here in front of the monitor, waiting patiently for more members to reply. She also hopes Anne will pass her a martini once in awhile. ;)

Oh, here you go Isa...I've been accused of making my apple martinis too strong so I dont share anymore. I say, if you dont like mine, then make your own!

Passing a martini to Isa and Tina...I hope it isnt too strong.

Don't have a lot of time to chat. Here's my details.

Arriving via train at 7:49pm from Toronto on Friday, September 23rd(probably slightly looped too, as I am training it first class and they provide free booze).

It'll probably take me 30 - 45 minutes to get to my hotel and check-in.

I am staying at the Courtyard Marriott at 410 Sherbrooke. It's probably a 20 - 30 minute walk to Hurleys.

All told, I will be ready to go somewhere between 9:00 and 9:30pm on Friday, September 23rd.

I am working in Montreal the next week, so I am not leaving any time.

Greg

Best Western Europa Downtown, 1240 Drummond Steet

I've stayed there before. Very nice hotel (much nicer than the moniker "Best Western" would imply) and very centrally located. I don't know about the St. Malo, but the BW Europa is pretty decent.

That's great to hear, Greg!!! Some Best Westerns are really quite nice and others - well, they weren't the brunt of the joke for nothing... Can we drop your name and get a discount or an upgrade??

Again, thanks for the positive comment on the hotel. It's a good thing to know! ;)
