Though Ive never been there, Ive heard Canterbury is very nice. (I love the Canterbury Tales)

Actually for all that it is slated, the North East isn't too bad a place to visit if you go to places like Durham and Newcastle themselves. Not sure if we get enough visiters to be able to open a hostel or anything but still nice and historic to see. Also lived in York and that is lovely too!

dont bother with manchester city or leeds, dull cities with nothing much to see

Edinburgh is a must. Bristol was pretty good. Brighton, Newcastle (good night life), Leeds i also liked and Liverpool

I lived in Edinburgh all my life and have to say it is a must visit for anyone travelling to the U.K !!

Brighton, Stratford, Bath, Oxford, Manchester, Edinburgh.... Theres sooo many places. Stratford or Bath prob your best bet as theres so many tourists and travellers there... Also, Stratford dont have too many hostels. Good luck!!

That's rubbish, there's loads to do in all of these cities, maybe not so much "historical stuff" but you can really get a taste of British life here! But then I suppose it depends on "how" you travel

when my romanian friend came over, in may, I took him to Cornwall.. its the most beautifuyl scenery in england. St Ives is lovely.....
also Aberdeen in Scotland, its full of scottish castles and whisky distilleries... fantastic!
