Peter & Sam,

I just want to tell you that at the bottom of the front page, the expression "logement de budget" sounds strange in French. I think "logement économique" or "logement bon marché" is more accurate.

That's it! ;) (I don't have anything else to say, since I really enjoy popping once in a while here...)

Sorry, I saw this post the other day and was going to reply but .... (have no idea why I didn't, was probably fixing chat )

We actually had that translated by a translator...grr! So, I'm guessing titles on pages like this are wrongly translated as well? Would I be able to replace the phrase with "logement économique" on all those pages without making it sound any weirder? How 'wrong' is it? :)

Thanks for keeping an eye on that!!

Would there be a differnce between the translators french and Noe's? Different country, dialect.. that kind of thing.

It's a good thought Brendan, but I've lived in France AND Québec... (I speak French with a french accent but expressions from Quebec , sounds strange sometimes )

Sam, I've checked the linked page and did you see that the "good" expression "Logement bon marché" is there as well!? I still think "logement de budget" sounds strange.

BTW, who is your tranlator?

And don't think we don't appreciate that too!!! (Fixing chat regularly that is!) ;)

Isa starts lobbying for Noe to become TP translator and begins investigating that class action lawsuit against the software company who designed the chatroom. TP Island - here we come! (Thanks to the settlement money!!)

ps: I know it's the wrong thread - but CC will be here with bells on!!! Thanks for rebooting chat so quickly - twice! (Peter rebooted right after you, Sam.)

Can't actually remember.... someone we hired via an agency I think! Yep, it's listed in both formats on that page (most of those pages actually, ie overall, region, country and city level).

As someone speaking French, what would you search for if you were doing an online search for budget/cheap accommodation?? Would "logement économique" be something you'd search for?

As someone not speaking french, I'd say "logement bon marché", given that that has 22.7k hits in google.fr (francophone only), versus 1.1k for "logement économique" (and 0.2k for "logement du budget").
