hollie75 has indicated that this thread is about Mexico

I am planning a trip to America but want to have a few days in Mexico, can anyone please give me advice on the best place to go to for a short trip there. I don't really like touristy places so any hidden treasures would be greatly appreciated as long as the place is safe since I will be travelling on my own. Thanks in advance for your help....

Have you considered Puerto Vallarta? Lots to do in a few days, hiking, snorkel, scuba, whale watching, dolphins, eco-tours, shopping, horses, dining. Let me know...

what part of the country are you crossing through?
we have 32 states, it takes to go from the yucatan peninsula to mexico city (the center) 26 hrs. by road, 2 by air, so depending on where u are coming from places might be easy to get or not.

but...
if you are taking chances, try
chiapas - expensive and magic
guanajuato, guadalajara (puerto vallarta - touristic), Michoacan traditional and colonial
cancun - modern and full of party
los cabos - fantastic sea, food, whales...
and nearby places around Mexico City, great food, crafts, weekend festivities, and CHEAP :D
