Just a little tip. Make sure you don't get stuck in 1 or 2 countries.
If you have 6 months you should try to go to a variety of different countries for different experiences. Don't spend most of your time for example in Brazil or Argentina, but see other countries and regions as well. That way you can make the most of your 6 months.
Hi Emily, I'm setting off on march next year and Brazil and Peru are second and third on my list so should be in Brazil in April/May and Peru straight after if your around either of those two then, perhaps we could try and meet as I'm off on my own too, I'll be 22 then.
If you try to learn portuguese and spanish together you will certainly mix it all up.
These too language are very similar. If you learn spanish and speaks it very slowly here in Brazil, we will understand it just fine, don´t worry about it.
But, you are really young to travel alone, for sure. It will be better if you have someone to travel with.
Reserve money and time to know Brazil. Believe me, we are much more than Rio. Rio is wonderful, but the beaches at northwest are amazing.
If you need some help finding cheap places to stay, just let me know.
This is really good advice - If you wish the url and info. on the worldwide travellers Hospitality Club (on line and non profit)I belong to with many Brasilian members (including two of the co founders)message.
