Emailing to your blog

Travel Forums System Talk Emailing to your blog

Is there an possibility of being able to email new entries to your blog? This would be quite handy - particularly when you want to spend as little time on the net as possible e.g. paying high charges. No logging in needed. Can write the blog offline etc.

Backpackit.com have a system where you can email things to your account. They provide you with a made up email address, too long to remember but of course you can store it in an address book.

Just a thought

Cheers

Hey Mark,

Funny you should mention it, as we're currently working on this. I don't expect it to be finalised for another few months though.. for now, logging in is the only way.

Cheers, Peter

Just thought I'd mention I like the design on your blog Mark. Good to see you making full use of the option of tailoring the CSS :)

If its a case of time, do what i do when can. Write it offline and then copy an paste it into the blog when you get on. If you write at home etc, adnmitetdly you then need a floppy disk/cd an an internet PC than accepts disks, but most do, and i`ve not had a problem. Finding a PC where i can work offline ahs been much harder!

And where would that option be???

(Or is it - if I have to ask, I shouldn't be messing around with it...)

Thanks. I took it pretty much off a blogger one someone had provided on the web. Took a bit of tinkering and am not sure if it's actually any nicer was fun having a play.

One thing I was thinking however is that if I decided to switch back to a provided template I would lose what I had done. Ideally I would be able to save my template.

Hi Mark,

That does sound like a nice possibility. Might be an idea for a future improvement. In the meanwhile, a copy and paste of the CSS into a text document would do the trick of course.

Hi Mark,

Just thought I would let you know that we launched this yesterday. Not just from a regular email account, but will also work from a mobile via mms or email. It's pretty nifty, especially considering that you can attach pics and have them uploaded at the same time too!

More on it in this thread...

Cheers,

Sam
