I am just about to finish the first leg of my round the world trip and have a fortnight to kill in or around Santiago, Chile. Trouble is, I don´t really know what to do! Can anyone inspire me? I have seen quite a bit of Argentina so I am thinking I should see some of Chile and maybe Bolivia. I would love to see the salt flats but unsure if I have enough time for this? I have from the 8th - 21st September so if there is anything you think I should´nt miss please be sure to tell me!
San Pedro de Atacama is a must.
I have a photo on my profile.
Ok, that is one - thank you! Anyone else got a must see?
Fly Santiago to Calama in NE Chile.
Bus to San Pedro de Atacama and check out for 3-4 days.
Take 4 day 4 wheel drive trip from San Pedro to Uyuni in Bolivia. (Salt Flats supposed to be fantastic, and I intend doing it next time in South America)
Uyuni to La Paz by train.
La Paz for 2 days.
Bus to Arica on Chile's north coast then fly/bus back to Santiago
fly La Paz direct to Santiago.
Wow! I better get my skates on!
