AAMI are your best bet, although they do have pre-conditions that may prevent insurance being issued. Such as: local garaging or postal address; age of the driver; whether our state recognises the licence carried. All very standard stuff, but don't hedge your bets on them until you try and get a quote. For the most part travellers only get 3rd party insurance due to the cost of comprehensive.

this has been most helpful was quite worried about how much insurance was going to cost me over in aus (travling to sydney in october) and about $600 is quite cheap in ireland your looking €1500 euro on average.

Does anyone know any reputable car dealers in sydney ?
