I am going to Lombok in a week. The doctor is advising I have vaccinations against Typhoid, Hep A and Diptheria and take malaria tablets.
Is this really necessary for a 2 week holiday? I am staying in a resort (it's my honeymoon!) rather than the usual hut so will be in a bit more luxurious than normal.
Can you advise?
If you are staying in a touristy resort you dont need the malaria tablets.
Just take the other jabs as a one off as they might come in handy for the following years if you are off somewhere Asia again.

Are you staying in Sengiggi, Kuta on the south coast or on one of the Gili islands?
I've been to Lombok 3 times so far, and love the island (and the Gilis).
If you will be spending all your time at the resort hotel, you should be pretty alright.
What does the Lonely Planet say?
I've been through South East Asia lots of times, and I always take the pills, although I mix decent hotels with beach huts and mountain villages.
Certainly have the jabs, and taking a pill once a day on holiday and for a week or two after your return is no big deal, is it?
Malaria is a nasty!!!
