I had planned to go to Europe for 6 weeks, but with rising gas prices, weakness of the US dollar and no time for working extra hours I am coming to the sad realization that I may not be able to afford to go on my grand tour of Europe.
So I am looking for travel locations where the US dollar is strong enough to afford me a nice length of stay without loosing all amenities. I dont know much about the world market. Somewhere where the flight isn't going to be astronomical would be great! Thanks
South East Asia, Thailand, Bangkok, floating markets, jungle treks and sunny beaches your taste?
Where do you want to go?
Have you done Yucatan in Mexico? Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Chitchen Itza, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Merida, Cozumel island.
What about Peru? Lima, Iquitos and the Amazon, trek the Colca Canyon for 3 days for virtually bugger all, Arequipa, Cuzco and Machu Picchu, Puno and Lake Titicaca?
Bolivia, probably the cheapest place I've been in South America.
Bali, Nusa Lembongan, Lombok and Sumbawa in Indonesia?
I spent some time in Costa Rica (Carribean coast & mountain regions) as well as Panama (Bocas del Toro) over this past Christmas break. It was a great change of pace and definitely inexpensive when compared to Europe these days.
