could someone please give me some advice about an iranian visa. how can i go about getting a iranian visa if there is not a embassy in the country i'm in. i will probably be in bangkok in a couple months and am already on the road, so no chance of getting one in home country, uk. but have been toying with the idea of just having a stop over for a week or 2 in iran on my way home. is it easy to get a transit visa on arrival if i'm only staying a little while. or if i need to apply for a visa is there somewhere i can do it in south east asia? as far as i can tell they don't have an embassy in bangkok.
quite an obscure question, but hope someone can help

I believe there is still an Iranian embassy in Bangkok - I went there some 4 years ago as my travel agent confused it with an Irish embassy - 'same same' for them all those countries.

it was off Sukhumwit Rd - don't remember which soi - but there was Irish pub aound the corner on Sukhumwit.

if they closed down an another embassy will represent them in Thailand.

The visa-procedure for Iran takes 5 full weeks. You need an invitation letter as well!!! I'd say....two weeks in Iran is not much!!!

Thailand has an Iranian consolate in Bangkok
