I am going on holiday to Poland for the first time this year. I arrive on April 10th.
I am really just looking for general tips bu there are a few specific points I could do with a little help on.
The first is money!
We will be very near Krakow. I have a visa card, a master card and a cirrus card. Will I be able to get cash easily or should I make sure i have enough on me for the 2 week stay.
Secondly hiring a car!
Can I hire a car with just me Uk drivers licence or do I need to make special arrangements od any kind
Secondly how much can I expect ro pay for food and drink
As I say, any information you feel would help me would be much appreciated
Thanks very much for your help
sorry for delay in replying - have been away without any access for a couple of weeks.
very briefly - You will have no problems getting cash at all. Just make sure that you've paid the minimum on your credit card before you leave though or you will be somewhat screwed..
You should be fine with the car as well - generally the only problems are if you are under 25.
Food and drink depends on what you eat and where. it is possible to eat very cheaply, and prices are obviously much cheaper anyway than the UK. Krakow itself is generally more expensive than the surrounding area because it is such a big tourist place, but is still cheap.
Thanks very much for your reply.
I would like to try traditional Polish food and drink. I would like to think that I had sampled Polands culture.
I would like to drink where the locals drink rather than where the tourists drink. I would of course like to see some tourist attractions as well. I tend to enjoy places of historical interest. If you know of any places I should visit, dishes I should try or drinks I should drink, I would love to hear from you again
