Travel Forums System Talk RSS Headers

I usually use RSS headers to see what posts are interesting to me to read, cos I can see them from my google homepage. However, there's many a time I've gone to one that I had interest in only to discover that there's no new posts since the day before. It would be nice if there was a way to indicate if there is new posts, or maybe the number of replies in a particular thread, or maybe even the latest poster in a thread.
Do you think this would be a possibility??

I'm not sure if this is possible actually, since how would the RSS reader know when the last time is you visited the post and therefore how many new posts there might be.... but I'm no RSS genius!

The RSS feeds do only display the latest 25 or so threads that have been started, that's why they might sometimes be very fresh with no replies. Once a thread is of interest, there is of course the subscribe method to stay abreast of what's happening there.

Let me know if that makes sense!

I agree that it wouldn't know if there was new posts, but it the total number of posts in a thread were posted at the end of the header, then I'd be able to tell if there was anything new. Or maybe the date of the last post, or days since the last post or something.
I would rather not subscribe to threads as I don't wanna get emails, but rather dip in and out if I see an interesting thread.
