What's up guys! I am going to visit my motherland in December. I always go to Orissa(where my relatives reside in) but this time I want to go up North before going to Orissa. I will stop by New Delhi. I was curious if any of you posters could let me know what one can do around New Delhi? I will be there for probably 2-3 days. I plan on visiting Agra for sure, where Taj Mahal is. Other than that im not sure where else to go, I need to do some research. I think Jaipur is a possibilty too? Anyways, any info would be great. Thanks for your time!
I was in Delhi this time last year and arrived with no information, no hotel booking and no clue. Found a decent guide there who took us firstly on a tour of delhi, and then for a week going from Delhi to Jaipur to Bharatpour and then onto Agra before returning to Delhi. Im not sure exactly of the cost but i know it was very reasonable, and it was a good way of getting our bearings in this beautiful country. I have the guides name and no if your think youd be interested....
Delhi is such an interesting place. Its chaos is making you crazy at times but its really interesting. I stayed three weeks and still I would enjoy the place. At main bazar in Paharganj you will find decent and cheap (budget) accomodation. This must be your basis to see everything. Its on walking distance of the new-delhi railwaystation from where the train brings you in five hours to Agra and/or Jaipur (easily to make it on a daytour). If you want to make everything out of your trip visit these three cities (Delhi/Agra/Jaipur)in three days also known as the golden triangle (that's what I've learned from other TP members).
