hey everybody

I was thinking of buying a Canon digital body, because I have a Canon EOS Rebel (300) film camera and then I can use the two lenses that I have on the digital one... right...??

So my dilemma is this, should I just stay with my film camera and save the money or buy me a digital one? If so, what camera do you reccomand. 300D, 20D, 350D?

One more thing, my uncle lives in Canada and is willing to buy it for me if I want over there (much cheaper than here in Iceland), and he told me to look at www.futureshop.ca, but I can't find just a digital body on their website, I can only find DSLR Canon cameras that include lenses...
Do any Canadiens out there know if it's possible to go to a futureshop store and just buy the body?

wow, that's kind of a complicated question
thanks alot you guys!!!

20D if you can afford it, the 350D is really small from what I've heard (but some women prefer it for that reason), 300D is still very good and maybe cheaper due to 350D's being a newer model.

Futureshop is a general consumer electronics store here. I wouldn't shop for something like a DSLR there unless you know exactly what you want. Try these links instead:

Can't really help you with the film vs. digital debate. I still shoot both. But prefer digital for convenience. One good thing to ask yourself is what are you going to use your camera for? Then match the qualities of either technology to what you're going to do.

I would say go for a 350D or a 20D but go hold them in a store so that you have a feeling about them. The 20D is a more heavy duty model (stronger) but for a average user the 350D would be perfect.

And of course you can use you the Canon lenses you have.

One thing about buying the camera in Canada.
The 350D and 20D are not professional camera's and because of that will not come with international warenty. And i don't know about iceland but if canon europe gets camera's from us / canada for repairs they charge extra and takes longer. And be ware that if your uncle ships the camera to you that customs in iceland can intersept the package and then you still need to pay taxes over it and normaly a small fine. So Make sure about those things before you deside to get it from abroad.

Greetings,
George

Thank you guys so much. I'm going to buy a digital one, I'm just still deciding which one... It pretty much comes up to money this time though, since I'm saving up for this trip in February... :)

But thanks a bunch, your replies were really helpful!
