This is my first post so go easy on me you experienced lot!!
My Girlfriend and I are planning a RTW trip leaving in about 11 months. Our proposed route is: London > Rio > (Overland to) Santiago > Easter Islands (or similar) > Auckland (Overland to) Christchurch > Melbourn (Overland to Cairns) > Bali > Singapore (Overland to Bangkok > Hong Kong > London.
I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations in regards to who we should book our tickets with in the UK (South). If anyone has had good or bad experiences I'd be happy to hear from you. I have been looking online and Travel Nation based in Brighton come across very well. Anyone had any dealings with them?
Also, anyone know if it's best to book now or nearer the time?
Thanks for your time!
I have never done a RTW trip as I stick to doing one continent at a time as when I get their my feet/head are on the ground for a while.
Your a London geezer,I only work their so their might be some useful tips in the tnt magazine,(www.tntmagine) which I'am sure you know can be picked up at street corners!!!!!and have you tried www.flightcentre.co.uk.
Some useful tips for RTW are at links and tools and destinations at top of this page.
Sorry I could not been of more help but their is a couple of Indepentant travel agents along North End Rd which I will see what price they offer for your trip and let you know.
I would wait until 6months before I am going and then book but if the price is right book up!!!!

Thanks for the tips... Flight Centre was one I'd heard about from a travel show last year, but I just wasn't sure how knowledgeable they were. Cheers for reminding me - I'll look into them too. I should hopefully get a couple of quotes back this week to give me some idea of what I'm looking at. If you can get me the names (or a web/email address) of the agents in North End Road you mentioned then I'll also try them (don't worry if it's a hassle though - not a problem).
Many thanks, Dan
I walked past a few today and they are;
No 6 is who I booked with when I am heading for Asia just after Christmas.
Hope all goes well and let me know the best and cheapest and which one you pick.
Have a great trip.

Hi - we're off at the end of November and booked about a month ago with Travel Nation. They were particularly helpful & have given us a great deal based on mileage rather than destinations. (See my reply to "RTW flights what did you all pay", further down this page).
We were given a very competitive price and change flight dates at no extra cost. Hope this helps. I would recommend them they seem to know what they're talking about.
