Travel Forums Europe Help! Seeking cheap room very close to Rome Fucimono Airport

Wow, I'm so excited to have stumbled upon this site! I'm planning a 5-week trip around Europe starting Mar 15, and have lots of questions. Am starting in Paris with my 2 teenagers (will be COLD for this Florida girl, I imagine?) for 1 week then flying to Rome (RyanAir) for 1 week, where kids will be returning home (then my REAL adventure will begin, hehe). I may be needlessly worried about getting them (cheaply) to the airport at 5:30-ish for a 7:20am flight, but I am considering changing rooms for the last night & finding something right near the airport. Can't seem to find anything. Or should I just break down and send them in a cab from our downtown hotel? Is it hard to find cabs at 5am, and approximately how much would it cost? We're booked at Hotel New York, $69 Euros/ night for a triple ensuite... any other ideas? I thought they'd enjoy a hostel for one night just to see what it's like. Are there any near FCO? After they leave, I'll knock around Italy for awhile, perhaps Sienna, Florence, & Venice. Then I'll get a Euroline pass and make a loop through Munich, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, maybe Hamburg (yes, no?), then Amsterdam and possibly Brussels. Also, as a "40-something" female on my own, will I be terribly out of place at hostels with mostly younger people? (I'm very easy going) Have some of you found it easy to make acquaintances while traveling solo? Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi
I hope this info helps but I can only try!!!!!, but you are trying to fit a lot into 5 weeks and no beachbuming,ah!!, but you are a beachbumer from Florida,I like Miami!!!.
For getting to and from Rome airports try www.airportconnection.it & www.airportshuttle.it
For Hotels at Rome airport try destinations, accomodation, links at top of this page or you could always do a google; cheap hotels Rome Airport or try www.smoothound.com
I never have stayed in Hostels but I have been in a few with other travellers who one meets on the road and they come across as very friendly places and also indepentant as if one does not want to mix nobody interfers.
I tend to travel less European countries but all travellers from Europe male and female mix and talk as soon as they meet but as a single USA female the whole world will want to meet and talk to you as soon as they hear your accent, you wont have a mins peace!!!!!
Lonely Planet Europe guide book is a handy tool as you will need one on your 5 week Europe adventure travel,I will be somewhere in Asia.
Have a great time

Thanks jackboy! I'll checkout those links. Yes, I probably am trying to fit too many destinations into my plans. Will probably trim it down a bit as I work out the details. And I definitely don't need to do any beachbumming since I do that all year around here! Glad to hear that "the whole world" will want to meet me due to my accent! Hey wait a minute, I thought you guys were the ones with the accent!
