cow25 has indicated that this thread is about France

I'm looking to do a French Language course next year in France. I'm thinking of doing 2 weeks somewhere along the French Riviera then 2 weeks in Paris, hopefully this will prepare me a little for getting a job and staying in Paris for a while. Any suggestions and is living and working in Paris easy for a (hopefully) very basic French speaker?

Ok, depends where you're from. Work situation is tight in Paris now, and it's especially difficult to get a visa to work if you are an American.
I'm doing the French Civ and Culture program at the Sorbonne, which is four months long, and effortless to get into. The only (BIG) drawbacks are the expense of the tuition, and the fact that on a visa from this program you are excluded from any type of work at all.

I did a 3 week French course in Antibes that was great. Have a look at the website http://www.cia-france.com/

Check out www.alliancesabroad.com. They offer work and language learning classes, but you pay to be there. It's more for the experience than making $$$. There's also opportunities to volunteer and teach.
