Some tourist club asks about 2000 euro deposit for CDP (fo my car). I know about the risk to lose this money. But I believe everything will be ok.

I don't afraid of bumpy roads because some roads in Russia are horrible and Lada was designed for such a roads and no adjustment is needed.

great photo's there on the roundabout of the Azadi monument. Man how was traffic in Tehran? It was like only cars there....and no traffic rules. Crossing the streets on foot is not done!!! Its some real adventure. I know the that red lada, they still drive here in Holland as well.

Traffic in Iran and especially in Tehran is chaotic but drivers are not agressive. There was no large problems with traffic.
Drivers in Iran beeps all the time. But it is not because they are angry, they simply indicate their presence. Soon I began to beep during overtaking too because I was not sure that they see my car if I don't beep.

Maybe next year.

If you go I will take it in serious consideration

I mean this year - to India, and next year - to somewhere else. As I understood you have a car.

As I said before I was willing to buy one to drive to India (I was thinking Hyunday van). But CDP forced me to cancel as it was too expensive. As you probably know the year of build of the car is decisive for the costs of CDP. For a 1995 Hyundai H100 van this was 5.000 Euro and I have no car mechanic skills. Buying an older car is too risky on bumpy roads and long distances, it will not return home safily.
