You really know how to hurt people, don't you Sander!!!

Fine, be that way. I'll bet you even get to work in your pajamas, too!!!

However, if we could work on a virtual pint of beer to soothe the heartbreak of work.......

I like most found TP through Google, Hallelujah..
Praise be to the TP Overlords

I was planning my trip to Sth America, which is getting closer thank god, & logged on to check out Travel Companions. But once I started reading the forums, Off Topic especially, I was addicted & just couldn't help but join in I find myself continuously shreiking with laughter at some of the posts.. & that in itself is a beautiful thing! I've made lots of good friends, some of whom I will be visiting on my trip - yippee! I've been immortalized in the TP Novel;) I have been getting postcards which are filling my fridge & have my brother looking at me sideways.. internet friends, what are they (but he likes them)

What more can I say except that it is a fantastic site with loads of great features, I have a blog for my travels, somewhere to feature my photo's, a message centre and a fabulous community.. I feel complete

First of all, thanks to Google for popping up TP upon my search for the keyword - "travelling" in March 2005. I was thinking that time to spend month in England but cancelled after that due to personal affairs... lots of TP members gave me supports and some even sent their concerns to my other personal inbox which was unforgettable!
And the thing happened next was I became one of the addicted members - easily passed almost 500 postings within months (got a feeling as if "am I taking drugs here?").

And especially (again and again) the latest thread I posted in General Forum "Leaving things behind???" exposed myself to the warmth of other world committee. PMs, replies, concerns and supports through text are genuinely getting me somewhere else out of this world!!! What an alienated planet this is, I wonder.

"When I pulled myself out of my body and it's kinda bizarre to gather such huge people in one place where everyone is treated, friendly and regardless their different backgrounds and believes which brought them up along all this while. Disparity is treated as uniqueness and nuances of every individual is treasured, as I can see here."

TP is not only a room for zealous travellers, but 'we' do find and have our parts fulfilled for together we grow-up everyday here. That's why we are here.

A thank-you is simply not enough.

Metaphorically I log on to TP and it's as if I recline softly into a psychologists chair, I stare into my explorer window and the hustle and bothersome noises of the office dumb down quieter and quieter until I am truly focused and begin reading through others wonderfull blogs.

Hooray to TP my therapeutic master.

This is a wonderful thread, Ev!!!!! I hope that it will become one of the "Featured" threads for the homepage. Everyone's responses are great, and they show - once again - what a cool site TP really is! Cheers to the TP Overlords!!!! ;)

Thanks Isa ;) Yeah, it must give Sam and Pete a nice warm, fuzzy feeling reading all these responses.

Maybe we should rename it Ode to Sam and Pete

What a great question, Ev!

I can't even remember how I stumbled across TP - something to do with boredom, dreaming about travel, and trying to escape an annoying co-worker, I expect. It started off as an interesting place to browse through and post the occassional question and answer, but it's grown into a really fantastic community of friends.

Like Q, I'm a pretty quiet person - I love being around people, but it takes me awhile to get really comfortable. But I love to write - I'm not a bit shy about that. So this is where I go to feel 100% at home with a big bunch of strangers. It's hard to explain just what that means, to be able to free yourself from the constraints of the dangnabbit tendancy to be more reserved that most. But you know, after meeting two handsfull of TP members, I can honsetly say it's just like meeting old friends. Isn't that incredible?

And I do like talking about travelling - where I've gone and where I want to go. Must't forget that!

While travelling all these years of my life I have been always lucky to find people, who have helped me a lot. Whenever I have been in trouble in an unknown place, I have been helped by someone or the other. There have never been a single incidence where I have been cheated or duped while travelling. I have already started writing a diary about all these incidences.
Just about a month back, a thought came to mind.....all these years I have been helped by so many unknown people ...why not to give it the same unknown people ....
So I just searched GOOGLE..and TP was infront of me. Since then I am trying to help everyone... whatever way I can.
Its great that TP has provided a platform for everyone to enjoy life and share it with everyone.

I come to TP looking for information, as many of us. I was planning my trip to Peru and had a lot of questions and I was a bit frightened about travel alone. Here I found people willing to help and give support.

That is how I arrived.

But I'm still here.

I stayed in TP, reading every day, because travel is probably one of the best ways to join people, different kinds of people. Here in TP, I feel part of a great community with people of amazing places. Travel is more than move the butt from one place to another, travel is about sharing, search, tolerance, knowledge, wisdom... and a lot of good things. People in TP share more than information and useful tips, all this is about feelings and passions.
