I am looking to go to Sydney in February, and will be needing a househare. I am planning on staying in Sydney as long as possible. I wondered if anybody could tell me where the best places to look are and/or the cheapest neighbourhoods to live in?
I don't mind living just outside the city if it is cheaper!
Many thanks for any help,
A good place to look is in the daliy newspaper Sydney Morning Herald.
Also check hostel noticeboards.
As for Area, I stayed out west in a place called Stanmore which worked out cheap and was near Newtown which is a cool place, lots of god food etc, maybe a bit funky for some people. So long as you are near a train station it won't take long to get to any place in Sydney really.
Have a look at www.domain.com.au and click on the "share" button.
If you are considering living just out of the city, then you have many options (depending on what you term "just out of the city").
Might be best to get a map of Sydney, and perhaps aim to live close to a train line.
Let me know if you have any questions.
