Hi. My name is Jason and I teach 6th grade (11-12 year olds) in Perris, California. I was bitten by the travel bug years ago and my wanderlust has brought me places I never fathomed Id visit. I'm trying something new this year to increase my students' view of the world as well as their geography skills. I am asking friends, acquaintances and ,yes, even strangers to send my class a postcard from your part of the world.
Please include your: Name, location, type of work and brief explanation of the postcard picture. Please send an appropriate card. Your help in this will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

-snip-

Again, thank you if you've taken the time to do this. We've recieved 5 postcards to date and each day my kids ask if we have any new postcards. Put a smile on a kids face and send a postcard!
Thanx,
Jason

Thank you, Fiona, in advance for your kindness and help! The kids will love a card from NZ. We've recieved 2 from Oz but it'll be nice to see Kiwis represented in our project. Plus, I haven't gotten a chance to tell them that someone from NZ is called a Kiwi. THey like cool stuff like that!
Anyways, thank you again. Hope your spring's off to a good start!
Jason

I'm on it as well! :)

One on the way from Ireland. That's a really cool idea for your class. Wish I'd had teachers like that. ;)

I just live at the top end of the US - northern Illinois - but I'm definitely in!!!! I live just south of the Wisconsin border so I can send post cards from both places. What a great way to get kids interested in places other than home!!!

Hey Jason!

I'm linking this thread to the post card thread in the Off Topic forum. People will reply to you there.

Also, we normally do not allow e-mail or snail mail addresses in the threads. I have edited the address out of this thread as a way to direct members to your information in Off Topic. The link will allow them to respond to your request in that forum. Since the address you have given is for your school, it will be allowed to remain in the post card thread in Off Topic.

Good luck with the project! ;)
