I will be traveling for 6-7 months in mostly developing countries and need to get some travel/medical insurance. I know that travellerspoint.com recommends World Nomads because they cover lots of adventure sports and let you extend coverage while abroad. Does anyone have experience with World Nomads? How about with their "Plus" service where you are extra-covered for expensive things? I'm not sure who has the best service (I need something for an American)- I just need a plan that'll pay the bills if I get sick or if my stuff gets stolen. Thanks for your recommendations...
Try searching through TP for peoples experiences and replies, as this is one of the most asked questions there is. I personally am with World Nomads, and i was looking only for cover for if i get really sick or my stuff gets stolen, and it was also good that i could extend my coverage online, and that it did last only for 12 months (as i`m travelling indefinately and didnt want the bother of having to buy a new policy, as most are non extendable, and max 12mths). But search here for otehr recomendations etc as well.
i have booked mine through insureandgo.com and they seemed good in comparison to some of the others.
the main things are to look into medical cover and legal expenses
For anyone thinking of booking their insurance soon, World Nomads have a great competition going. If you book before Dec 31st you're in with a chance of winning a brilliant prize ...
Looks pretty good!
