It occurred to me a couple of weeks ago that I gotta do some traveling after I graduate from college and before I "settle down". And what better way than to go around the world. I've got a preliminary agenda figured out. I've never done any traveling like this and would appreciate any advice on what I could change or do to make this a more successful adventure. I've been pouring over every relevant thread on this website for help and ideas.
Also, I had thought about the working holiday in Australia or NZ for a few months , but I couldn't figure out if they offered those visas to Americans.
There are two "legs" to this. Asia and Europe. I know that I want to be in Europe by the end of April as it is very oppressive (crowds and heat) in Greece after that.
I looked into a plane ticket for this route and it came to about $1500. I'll be boarding a plane to China around January 15, 2007. Here's how it looks from there. I have no timetables set other than departure and late April in Athens. I figure this should be about a 6-8 month odyssey.
Overland to Bangkok
Overland to Bombay
Overland to Madrid(meanwhile wandering quit a bit around Europe)
Thanks for your help
