Greetings,

It occurred to me a couple of weeks ago that I gotta do some traveling after I graduate from college and before I "settle down". And what better way than to go around the world. I've got a preliminary agenda figured out. I've never done any traveling like this and would appreciate any advice on what I could change or do to make this a more successful adventure. I've been pouring over every relevant thread on this website for help and ideas.

Also, I had thought about the working holiday in Australia or NZ for a few months , but I couldn't figure out if they offered those visas to Americans.

There are two "legs" to this. Asia and Europe. I know that I want to be in Europe by the end of April as it is very oppressive (crowds and heat) in Greece after that.

I looked into a plane ticket for this route and it came to about $1500. I'll be boarding a plane to China around January 15, 2007. Here's how it looks from there. I have no timetables set other than departure and late April in Athens. I figure this should be about a 6-8 month odyssey.

LA
Beijing
Overland to Bangkok
Overland to Bombay
Athens
Overland to Madrid(meanwhile wandering quit a bit around Europe)
Boston

Thanks for your help

Hi
It looks like a journey in a million so best of luck.
I have not done a RTW trip myself I tend to stick to one continent at a time as when I land at least my head/feet are on the ground for a while.
It looks like you are on your own for this trip but stick with it and something will come up.
Have a great trip.

Looks like a nice trip. I don't have mush to say, other than that i don't think u'll have a problem with heat and crowds in greece until the end of may.
