JulesB has indicated that this thread is about Australia

HI im travelling to Oz with my sister and we were hoping to open a joint bank account in the hopes it would save some hassle, especially as were sharing all the money we've saved up. However in all the websites I've looked at I've not seen any options to do this! Can anyone give me any advice on this or are we better with two seperate accounts??

Please Help!

Hi Jules, these accounts are easy to open. ANZ Bank is your best bet. You both need to be signatories to the account so you both need to present yourself at the bank with passports to fill in and sign the forms. Your account will be opened on the spot. You can go to And this will take you to the online application for an access saver account. Or just start from Keep in mind you still have to go to the branch when you arrive to be ID'd - this is law in Oz. Or you can email ANZ through this site to get more info.

Be prepared for high fees on your Aussie bank account: Citibank,Commonwealth, St George, Westpac they are all the same. ANZ access seems to offer the best fee structure though.

Need any more help please just ask.

As majito says, joint bank accounts are easy to set up.

Bank fees in Australia are legalised roberry, but the ANZ Bank has an account which costs "only" $5 per month to operate, and "gives" you all the options you may want.
