hey

i was wondering if anyone has done something along the lines of living with a family on a farm and helping out around the place for a bit of money. FOr example in countries like Croatia, Spain or France or anywhere else would be helpful as well.

i would love to hear if anyone has done anything similar to this and if they know if it is possible

thanks a lot

I would try links, tools at top of this page and follow a few threads.
Hope it goes well.

Check out http://www.wwoof.org. It is an international association for volunteer work on organic farms around the world. It might be what you are looking for.

I lived in Spain. But of course, I'm married to a spaniard. Lots of people rent rooms in thier homes, mostly to students. It can be between 200 and 300 euros a month. I wouldn't try looking for work, unless you are planning on staying more than a month. Living is pretty cheap anyway. Be friendly and ask around though, you might be able to make some good friends and some fun experiences that way.

Hi there!

I don't know if you are a girl or guy (it's not written in your profile), but I've been an Au-Pair girl in Germany twice, living in families and taking care of children. The pay wasn't fabulous, but I was in total immersion (to learn a language, working with kids is the best!) and I was eating and sleeping at the family expenses! Besides, I've been lucky to have host families that gave me a lot of free time, so I had a couple of week-ends off to go visit other cities around...

Most families prefer having a girl taking care of their children, but I've read about a couple of boys having the same experience. I've found both my families on internet (some sites are free, others not), but there are agencies that do the job for you too, to find a family that is more likely to fit with the character of the Au-Pair, and the contrary as well...

Hope it helps!
