Travel Forums Asia Hostels in Hong Kong

Hi there,

As part of a RTW trip I'm planning on spending 6 days in HK, I want to book my first two days accommodation before I go, preferably somewhere fairly near the airport or easy to travel to (as I've never been before and will be landing in the evening).

Does anybody have any good suggestions of hostels that they have stayed in?

Jen

Hi
I have never been to HK but will make an attempt on my Asia trip starting in Jan,06 but can only point out two websites for you to check. 1)www.hostelworld.com 2)www.hostelhongkong.com
I know you say you are arriving HK in the evening and hopefully HK is not that big but if you could get to a central hostel "that night" it would save you time and inconvience and the waste of a day in having to move again the next day.
Dont worry its just me(being old) as anywhere I go I make sure I go into a new place early mornings so I can dump my shoulder bag and out sightseeing by midday.
Some good advice at destinations, links, etc at top of page and no doubt your Lonely Planet South East Asia will help you with maps etc.
Have a great RTW trip and if possible let me know how you got on in HG.

no need to book - I would all options will be upmarket.

Take airbus from the airport H$36 to Tsi Tsa Mui, Kowloon. Ask driver for the Mirador Mansions. Several cheepesh guest houses and homestays from H$110 double ensuite - expect no more than a box.

Hi,
Don't know if you've left yet or not. But you don't want to stay near the airport. Take either the Airport Express or an express bus to Kowloon. Then take a taxi to Tsim Sha Tsui to Nathan Road between Middle and Mody Roads. Plenty of cheap rooms in that area. That's where you'll find the infamous Chungking Mansions, and the Mirador mentioned above.

Here is a great website that the HK govt put together for licensed hotels & guesthouses here in HK. Highly recommended.

Hope this helps.
