Yes there are jobs available, you will need a WHV.. theres pub work, adventure tourism, office temping, labouring, ski fields etc! Its like anywhere there is always work for those who want it.. it may not pay a fortune though

Cheers - hopefully i end up going now. P**sed off living over here and need a change!!

Btw what does WHV stand for?

Hi Cosmo,

WHV stand for Working Holiday Visa - you will need this to be able to work legally. The rules have recently changed so you can apply for a 2 year visa instead of just one. The following link will give you the info you need and by registering you can apply online.

http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/workingholiday/howdoiapply/thesteps/default.htm

There are other websites who will do the application for you but tend to charge an admin fee so I'd recommend this one as the cheapest as its the official NZ immigration site.

Good Luck!

Hi Cosmo!

I'm Irish too and I just got my WHV for NZ! :)

Will the there from April 06 for a year! Need a change too - need to get away from Ireland for a few years I think.

I applied with Visit First - check out the USIT website. YOu can launch a chat window and someone will process your application with you there and then online - effortless!

If you have questions, let me know.

Ev ;)

Cheers people.

Yeah, have been on the usit website alright (can get ye out there within 6 weeks!!), seem to help ye out with alot of stuff when youre out there (which is handy seen as ill be heading over on my tod if i go!!)

Have the money saved, just a matter of having the balls to head over now!!

Cosmo,

Do you know that you can just apply for the visa without all the extras that USIT offer?

I didnt know that and was expecting to fork out €300..but I accidentally launched the Visa First window and ended up with just the Visa for €160.

Although, the USIT package might be worth the extra money - they do seem to give people a lot of help in their first few weeks over there. :)

I'm going on my tod too! Go for it!

Cosmo,

Yeah I know that but I just think the services they offer when youre over there are worth the couple of hundred yoyos for someone heading over on their tod (plus you just hand in your passport and they look after everything and youre over in 6 weeks without doing feck all !!)
